Russian locale for Cisco 7821 IP Phone
While configuring Russian locale on CME, I came across a problem where 7821 phones would not switch to Russian locale. Turns out these phones look for localization file with different alias than the one created by CME router when locale is loaded and extracted.
Default alias looks like this:
tftp-server flash:its/russia_sp-sip.jar alias SIP_Russian_Russia/sp-sip.jarWe need to add an additional alias like this:
tftp-server flash:its/russia_sp-sip.jar alias SIP_Russian_Russian_Federation/sp-sip.jar
The full Cisco Unified Communications Locale Installer for Cisco Unified Communications Manager must be installed prior to installation of a Phone Only locale installer.
Yep, you’re correct, but this is a Call Manager Express here
In other words, we do not have Phone Only Locale Installer release for every FW release when it is not necessary.
